Persons' who play sport betting an examination of affair between their attitude towards money and their motivational factors of sport betting

The sports betting industry, which involves estimating the results of sports competitions, shows a rapid start in the sports industry and represents a significant part of this market. Since the day they emerged, sports betting has attracted people by attracting factors such as high earnings and the realization of dreams. In this study, it was aimed to investigate the motivation of betting individuals and their attitudes towards money. Betting Motivation Scale and Attitude towards Money Scale were applied to 300 participants who were at least high school graduates living in Ankara. Survey results were analyzed using Spss 25.0 package program. In the analysis of the data, t-test, Anova test and Correlation test were applied. According to the results obtained in the study, it was found that the intrinsic motivations of sports bets were mostly dominated by exhibiting this behavior, although different betting motivations have been made, all betting players defined the money as an indicator of success, and the participants who made bets in the dealer environment had stronger motivations for betting than those who played on the internet. It is among the findings that those who bet with the aim of being rich identify the money with success and those who bet with the aim of curiosity and learning participate in games with the desire of pleasure and excitement.
