Abstract (EN)

Introduction and Aim: The aim of this research is to examine the Individual Entrepreneurship Orientations of students in the final year of Coaching Education and Sports Management Departments of Sports Sciences Faculties in terms of different variables. Materials and Methods: A total of 245 students, including 84 females, from the Coaching and Sports Management Departments of Trakya University Kırkpınar Sports Sciences Faculty, Çanakkale Onsekiz Mart University Sports Sciences Faculty, Istanbul University Cerrahpaşa Sports Sciences Faculty, Sakarya University of Applied Sciences Sports Sciences Faculty, and Muğla Sıtkı Koçman University Sports Sciences Faculty were included in the study. The Individual Entrepreneurship orientations of the participants were assessed using the Individual Entrepreneurship Orientation Scale developed by Ercan and Yıldıran (49), which has Turkish validity and reliability, while their physical activity levels were evaluated using the short form of the International Physical Activity Scale, validated by Öztürk (200550) in Turkish. Other data of the participants were collected using a data collection form created by the researcher. Results: Statistical analysis showed that neither physical activity level nor body mass index had an effect on the individual entrepreneurship characteristics of both male and female participants (p>0.05). Participants who attended entrepreneurship-related training differed significantly in terms of risk-taking, innovativeness, proactiveness, and total scores obtained from the scale compared to those who did not receive entrepreneurship education (p<0.05). In terms of the department of education, the scores of the students in the coaching education department were significantly higher than those of the students in the management department in terms of the proactiveness subscale of the scale (p<0.05). Conclusion: The results obtained from the study indicate that attending any entrepreneurship-related training may change individual entrepreneurship orientations. Repeating the study with a larger sample size may lead to different results in order to explain the effects of independent variables such as body mass index, gender, and physical activity level on individual entrepreneurship orientation. Keywords: Physical activity level, Individual Entrepreneurship Orientation, gender, body mass index
