Abstract (EN)

This study focused on the relations between the conflict management ctrategies employed by the Football Club Managers and their perfectionist characters and their level of motivation. The participant group consisted of randomly- selected 207 football club managers (6 women; %2.9 and 201 men; %97.1) of various clubs from Spor Toto Super League, Bank Asya Premier and Second Leagues. The study used as the data gathering tool the information form designed by the researcher, Motivation Sources Scale, Perfectionism Scale and Conflict Management Strategies Scale. In data analysis, hierarchical regression analysis, independent samples t-test, one way analysis of variance test (ANOVA) and Pearson Correlation Coefficient were used. To determine the source of the significant differences found in ANOVA, Tukey's HSD (Honestly Significant Difference) was used. The study found that motivation and perfectionist characteristics of the managers were closely and significantly related to the strategies they used in conflict management.. The study also found that the relationship between the managers professional status and their conflict management strategies was limited to the level of adjustment and that there was a significant relation between the managers educational status and their conflict management styles. Although there was no significant difference in terms of their professional experience, the study found a significant relation in the ?integration? subdimension. There was a significant relation between the managers? level of motivation and their work experience and the types of the leagues. Another finding was that the points the managers from the Super League took in the conflict management strategies scale were significantly higher than those taken by the managers from the premier and second leagues. No significant relationship was found between the ages of the managers and their conflict management strategies.Key Words; Conflict Management, Sport Managers, Motivation
