Abstract (EN)
The first aim of this study was to determine reliability and validity for Turkish athletes of Sport Confidence Inventory which has been developed by Vealey and Knight (2002). The second aim of this study was to determine whether the motivation and perception of success was a determinant of sport confidence. In the first study about adapting to athletes of The Sport Confidence Inventory, the sample is consist of 215 athletes which are 95 girls and 120 boys. As a result of the confirmatory factor analysis, the fit indices for this scale are calculated as χ² / sd= 226.66/74 = 3.06., RMSEA = 0.084, SRMR = 0.053, GFI = 0.87, AGFI = 0.81, NFI = 0.86; NNFI = 0.88, CFI = 0.90 . In addition to these findings, Cronbach's alpha coefficients of the scale were also found 0.85 for physical skills and training and 0.82 for cognitive efficiency and 0.83 for psychological resilience. After reliability and validity studies, it is examined whether the perception of motivation and goal achievement was a determinant of sport confidence. For this study, the sample are consist of 258 athletes which are 124 girls and 134 boys. Participants completed Sport Confidence Inventory (SCI), Perceptions of Success Questionnaire (POSQ) and Sport Motivation Scale (SMS). In the analysis of the data, it has been used descriptive analysis, Pearson product-moment correlation and multiple regression analysis with stepwise. When the result were examined, it was determined that the most important predictor of physical skills and training was task orientation. In addition, it was determined that the most important predictor of cognitive efficiency and total sport confidence was task orientation and external regulation, and the most important predictor of psychological resilience was task orientation and instrintic motivation
