A study on mobbing actions exposed by physical education and sports teachers in school environment

A Study on Mobbing Actions Exposed by Physical Education and Sports Teachers in School Environment This thesis has been prepared in order to reveal the mobbing actions exposed by physical education and sports teachers in school environment. The sample group of the research consist of 445 physical education and sports teachers working in schools affiliated to the Ministry of National Education in the province of Hatay. The personal information form prepared by the researcher and the "Negative Acts Questionnaire" developed by Einarsen and Raknes (1997) and adapted to Turkish by Cemaloğlu (2007) were used in the study. SPSS 17 packaged software was used for data analysis. As a result of the normality test, it was found that the data were not distributed normally. Mann Whitney U Test was used for paired groups and Kruskal-Wallis H Test was used for triple groups. Spearman correlation test was used to determine the relationship between the sub-dimensions. When the results of the study were examined there was no significant difference between the mean scores of the participants' in terms of gender, education level and education status variables but a significant difference was identified between (p>0,05) in terms of age and maritial status. Also, there was a significant difference in professional seniority variable in only one sub-dimension. Key Words: Physical Education, Sports, Mobbing
