Structure and thematic fiction in Suat Derviş?s thirteen novels

In our study `Structure and Thematic Fiction in Suat Derviş?s Thirteen Novels?, we analyzed respectively Kara Kitap, Hiçbiri, Buhran Gecesi, Ne Bir Ses Ne Bir Nefes, Fatma?nın Günahı, Gönül Gibi, Emine, Bu Roman Olan Şeylerin Romanıdır, Hiç, Ankara Mahpusu, Fosforlu Cevriye, Çılgın Gibi and Aksaray?dan Bir Perihan.First section of our two sections study is about the life of Suat Derviş, her artistic understanding and the list of her works based on the publication date. In the second section of this thesis, we analyzed each novels listed above under the headlines of `structure? and `thematic fiction?. In this section that the linkage between name and contents are also analyzed, the chains composed by the actions that are the parts of plot are arranged and the elements which emerge in the plots are summarized in items. The point of view and the narrative techniques that composed this structure are analyzed under the headlines of time, space and characters. We analyze characters by dividing them into categories that are character formation, main character, norm, kart, and fon and their functions in the narrative. Themes under the `thematic fiction? are arranged and listed based on density and importance. Again in this section, the components of the dramatic action in the novels that are character, concept and symbol values are represented in Kora Diagram developed by Prof. Dr. Ramazan Korkmaz and the existed structure are analyzed from different perspectives. In the conclusion part, we presented the general evaluation of all the dimensions, analyzed in detail in previous parts and determined the findings. The last part, we presented the bibliography of this study.In our study on thirteen novels of Suat Derviş, among the first women representatives of the Turkish literature during the Republican Era, we found that writer was quite successful in terms of both narration and the functionality of dimensions in this structure during her fifty years of writing. In addition to that, we came to conclusion that the subjects of her writings had evolved from individual struggles to social reality.Key Words: Suat Derviş, Novel, Structure, Thematic Fiction, Kora Diagram
