Abstract (EN)
Subhi Fahmâvî, one of the figures of modern Arabic literature, examined the roles of men and women in the eastern society in his novel al-Armelatu al-Sawda. In this context, she dealt with social conflicts, disagreements, and gender standards with her narrative woven around the characters of Shahriar and Scheherazade. It discusses the problems experienced by the male and female genders and reveals the problems with the arguments presented by the characters. Each character demonstrates the maturity of listening to the evidence of the other party after presenting the evidence in a concrete way to prove his/her point of view. The novel enables us to understand the decision mechanisms of the characters by showing the backgrounds of the characters, their psychological adventures, the events that have been processed and engraved in their minds. Rather than direct dialogues; The novel, which is processed with the inner dialogue and the author's dominant perspective, comes together with vague pieces such as a play representing the novel. The novel is a work that is formed by induction in particles rather than a chronological plan. Therefore, the reader has difficulty in understanding the relevant story until the end in the work, which places the crucial strokes not at the end of the novel, but inside the event scenes, arousing a sense of curiosity in the reader with its summary titles. As the novel comes to an end, Scheherazade, who defends women's rights, thinking that women are abused, marginalized and deprived of their rights; thinking that men are put in the background in society, that they have to do all the hard work, that they are tired and stigmatized due to material and moral pressure, Chief Prosecutor Shahriyar, on the contrary, now abandon their extreme ideas. Finally, they both come to the conclusion that it is not possible to get anywhere by assigning certain roles to women and men in society and blaming the opposite sex, given that the solution is to consider and value the person as a human being rather than labeling them as a woman-man, and provided so the solution is resolved in the issue of handing this as a society-individual res. In our study, we examined the novel al-Ermeletu al-Sawda under its broad summary, story structure, material elements and narrative techniques, the introduction and 3 main headings. Keywords: Arabic Language, Literature, Novel, Fahmavi, Woman, Man.
