Abstract (EN)
Technologies that develop and change day by day have increased the needs of people for data centers. In line with this increasing need, data center requirements should be met. Increasing productivity-enhancing designs and studies for sustainable data centers is important for the future of data centers. They should ensure that the information technology devices they house in their data centers operate in a healthy way. Information technology devices should not be interrupted in case of possible failure or interruption. For sustainability, information technology devices, air conditioning systems, electrical systems, automation systems and security systems should work in coordination with each other. In order to ensure this sustainability, data centers consume a lot of energy. Reducing this energy consumption is important. In this thesis, a sustainable data center design has been made by adhering to the standards set by international organizations. In the design phase, the heat gain calculation of the rooms to be air-conditioned was made. According to the heat gain calculation, the air-conditioning requirement of the rooms has been determined. In line with the identified needs, the data center was designed in a way that would not be affected by the interruptions, and the appropriate devices were selected. After the design phase, a solar energy system was integrated to reduce the energy cost of this data center and to reduce carbon emissions. In line with the data obtained, it has been calculated that the roof type photovoltaic application for a 500 m2 data center provides annual savings of 727 thousand 102 TL and corresponds to 2.07% of the facility consumption value. It has been calculated that the land application saves 35 million 66 thousand 455 TL annually. It is considered that this study will be a guiding study for those who will set up a data center.
