Examination of relations between Syrian refugees' place attachments, authoritarianism and willingness of returning-staying-leaving

Basic purpose of this study is to research the mediator role of place attachment to Turkey variable between the relationship of Syrian refugees', which live in Turkey, choice of going back to Syria, staying in Turkey, or going to a third country (USA or Europe), and their right-wing authoritarianism levels. Therefore, first of all, a qualitative study, with 12 attendants of Syrian refugees, is made. And then, a quantitative study with 268 attendants, among Syrian refugees living in Turkey, was made. In this study, Place Attachment Scale and Short Form Right Wing Authoritarianism Scale was used as a data collection tool. As a result of the study, a positive significant relationship was found between attendants' place attachment and Right Wing Authoritarianism scores. Besides, place attachment to Turkey is detected to have a mediator role between right wing authoritarianism and going back, stay and leaving decision.
