Abstract (EN)

The subject of our study is Religious Education in the Assyrian Ancient Church. An examination was made considering the religious education and educational elements of the Assyrian Ancient Church, which is considered the first believers of Christianity. The study consists of two parts. In the first part, the history and origins of the Assyrians were discussed, and brief information was given about other churches that broke away from the Assyrian Church in the historical process. The historical process started with Jesus Christ and his apostles and continued with the council period. An evaluation was made by considering the impact of political policies on the Assyrian Ancient Church in the Ottoman Empire and the Republic period, which is close to today. In the second part of the research, the institutional context of Assyrians' religious education is basically classified and explained as formal and informal education. After the historical process classifications, the places of teachers and learners in the stage of religious education were explained. The clergy in the identity of the teacher in religious education and the characteristics they should have are specified. The importance of the texts used as tools in Assyrian religious education is explained. The last topic is the methods used in religious education and the study was ended with the conclusion.
