Abstract (EN)

The concept of the environment, which includes all kinds the living being on earth and inanimate objects; it changes, develops and creates a historical accumulation in accordance with the needs of people in, parallel with the concept of the history. Depending on this change and development; "historical envoriments" that "contain our past experiences, our values" and "add an unique value to the existing environment" are formed. Nowadays, some of the reasons brought by globalization make historical environments difficult to by making changes in terms of "physical, social, cultural, economic, etc." and damaging these important environments. However, transferring the historical environment to the future by preserving it; is very important in terms of "ensuring the continuity of culture, making the person belong to where they live etc.". In this direction, for the protection of historical environments; both society, non-governmental organizations and central and local governments should do their mission in cooperation and adopt protection awareness. The built environment changes over time for a number of reasons. Especially in the 20th century, in the historical environments that were damaged by the effects of wars, discharges occurred and the idea of new construction revealed the "old-new coexistence" in the emptied places. In this direction, the importance of "designing a new building in the historical environment and conservation" has been emphasized by a number of international studies and a phenomenon of conservation has developed. The development of the concept of conservation in historical environments has increased the importance of new building designs in these environments and "how to establish the relationship between old and new" brought the problem to the agenda. Along with all these changes, some of new needs emerge in the societies, and the historical environment is changing and developing in order to meet today the needs. The accurate realization of this change and development; depends on "the correct analysis of the points to be considered before new building design" and "awarness of protection". In this direction, the design of the new building has an important place in the historical environments that make up our identity. In this study; "a system of aims for designing new buildings in the historical environment" will be proposed. Regarding the design of the new building in the historical environment, which is stated as a problem, by emphasizing the point of "how to establish the relationship between old and new"; "Turkey and the world the examples chosen will be examined" and a resource for our country will be created about the design approach at the historical environment.
