Yazidis in history and current social status of South Eastern Anatolia yazidis

This study aims collecting the up-to-date information about Yezidis in SouthEastern Anatolian Region and to reveal the causes of Yezidi migration from theregion.Explained topics in respected order are; the terms and notions used in socialsciences related to ethnicity studies with the perspective of ethnicity, historicalbackground of ethnic minorities in Turkey, socio-economical characteristics of SouthEastern Anatolian Region and migration related to the region, historical and beliefbased background of Yezidi religion, its hierarchical structure and traditions ofYezidis. In the field study part of the thesis, we tried to obtain information that is notavailable via literature sources and that are specific to the perspective of members ofthe Yezidi community.The condition after the evaluation of information both gained from literatureand interview is explained in the conclusion section.
