Abstract (EN)

People produce some commercial information to change, transform and control their environment, nature and environment to make them more livable. As it is for commercial purposes, firms usually attempt to make new productive information and investment in technological innovation in order to gain profit. Technology-related developments do not only cause a change in the production method. It is also effective in changing and transforming social, cultural perception and value judgments in society. One of them is the increase in gender gap in employment. Especially, the fact that women are not sufficiently employed in technological fields and that they are more dominant in areas that have automation risk expose them to more employment losses due to technological innovations. Therefore, the gender gap in uneven employment in almost no country carries the risk of further increase. This study aimed to determine the relationship between technological innovation indicators and gender employment and whether technological innovative developments have a negative impact on different gender employment, and if so, how it has been distributed. For this purpose, the impact of technological innovation on female and male employment was investigated by panel data analysis between the years 1996-2017 in 29 OECD countries whose data are available. As a result of the analysis made in the study, it was seen that the result obtained was in parallel with a significant part of the literature, and it was found that there was no long-term relationship with technological innovations and any gender employment. In addition, from the technological innovation called process and product innovation, only process innovation has been found to have a positive but small impact on the employment of genders. In line with these results, it is possible to say that there is only a relationship between technological innovation and employment in the short term and no relationship in the long term. Keywords: Technological Innovation, Gender Employment, İnnovation of Process, OECD, Panel Data Anaysis.
