Abstract (EN)
Raw tincal ore contains calcite, dolomite, and very few of minerals such as probertite, colemanite and ulexite, in addition to clay minerals. The most important problem is impurities in the products obtained are during production. Impurities that can be encountered are Ca+2, Mg +2, SiO2, SO4-2 and Cl- when tuvenane tincal dissolves in water or weak borax solutions at 90-93oC. The presences of Ca+2, Mg+2, SiO2 impurities have negatively an effect on crystallization. Ca+2 impurity also causes probertite formation in process and probertite forms in crystallizer during crystallization and in weak solutions. This formation causes increase in Ca2+ impurity in crystals and plugging in the pipes, which leads to blockage and stop the process. Presented study consists of three parts: 1. Investigation of dissolution behavior of minerals such as clay, dolomite, calcite, colemanite, ulexite and probertite contained in raw tincal. 2-Studies about removing Ca2+ from Ca2+ containing borax solutions prepared synthetically and raw tincal solutions. 3. Studies on raw tincal. It has been determined that minerals which may be presence in tincal dissolve in important extent in saturated borax solutions at 90oC, but these solubilities show an decreasing tendency in advanced times. Decreasing Ca2+ precipitates as probertite. In this study, in order to prevent precipitation of probertite has been investigated removing Ca2+ from borax solutions It has been determined in experiments realised for this purpose that addition of Na2CO3 was affected in studies which was carried out with Ca2+containing borax solutions prepared synthetically and borax solutions prepared from raw tincal, but, addition of calcite, dolomite and probe rtite in stead of Na2CO3 is effect, the most effective Ca2+ remover is probertite.
