Abstract (EN)
This study was conducted to determine the medical nutrition thraphy effect on oxidative stres, inflammation, glycemic control in Type 2 Diabetes patients. The study was carried on 35 Type 2 diabetes ages between 20-65 years old at the Department of endocrinology of Başkent University İstanbul Hospital between february 2015 and september 2015. To these selected patients to determine the personal and disease information a questionnarie form 23 question contain is applied. In 3 month period a personal nutrition theraphy was applied. To analyse the nutrition habits of the patients food consumption frequency test, 3 days food consumption and 3 days physical activity questionnarie form were applied. Biochemical parameters (fasting blood sugar, fasting insulin, HDL-cholesterol, triglycerides, LDL- cholesterol, ALT, AST, MDA and CRP ), anthropometric measurements and body analysis (body weight, height, body mass index, neck circumference, waist circumference, waist-hip ratio, body fat percentage, body muscle weight) were also determined The three day food consumption and biochemical parameters were requested at the beginning and at the end of the study. The mean age of the individuals was 56.63±8.16 years (males 54.53±8.16 years, females 58.20±7.50 years). When male patients was developed at the begining and the end of the study reduction was found to be statistically significant differences; weight, percentage body fat, waist, neck, hip is around and systolic and diastolic blood pressure (p<0.05). Female patient was developed body weight, body fat percentage, waist, neck, hips and around where the reduction was found to be statistically significant differences(p<0.05). Between patients first visit and the follow up visit where the impact of the new medical nutrition therapy's blood values were compared; it was seen that there was a significant decrease on fasting blood glucose, fasting insulin, HbA1c, CRP, triglyceride and MDA values (p<0.05).The mean diabetic age of the patients was 7.63±6.22 years. When patients' diabetic age were increased, there was a positive correlation between the fasting blood glucose and HbA1c values (p<0.05). A positive correlation was found between height and CRP, negative correlation between muscle mass and HDL- cholesterol, positive correlation between waist circumference and AKŞ, HbA1c, HOMA-IR, positive correlation between CRP and waist circumference and HDL-cholesterol (p<0.05). As a result of this study; Type 2 diabetes patients are evaluated 3 month of medical nutrition theraphy and seen that decreased oxidative stres and inflammation and that contribute to glycemic control.
