Performance evaluation of TKİ-GELİ Sekköy coal washing plant

In this study, TKİ-GELİ Sekköy coal washing plant?s performance was evaluated. In the performance evaluation, fractional washability values were used. For this purpose, representative samples were taken from the flows of coal washing equipments (Drewboy and Larcodem). Screen analyses were performed to these samples and sink float tests were applied to particle size of each. Ash analyses were performed to the samples which were obtained from sink float tests. Fractional tromp curves were graphed with data which were obtain from the tests, fractional Ep and ?50 values were calculated for each equipment. The results of sink float tests have indicated that most convenient operating density is 1.6 g/cm3. At this density, the clean coal with 54.37 % ash content will be produced and, 22.09 % total yield will be obtained and the refuse will contain 50.88 % ash. Additionally, the importance of the performance tests was presented at the washing plants and furthermore, estimations of the performance of coal washing equipments were given in this paper.
