Evaluation of Trabzon coastal facade and filler areas in the context of user opinions

Since the coasts which are among the phenomena distinguishing and increasing the importance of a city are always with intensive use, they can demonstrate changes depending on population and various living conditions. The coastal siluette and intended use of the buildings in Trabzon coastal line were examined in accordance with user opinions. Also intended in the study to present whether the user opinions on the use of Ayasofya, Beşirli-I and Beşirli-II (Akyazı) were differentiated as to different variables. The share line in Ayasofya and Akyazı located in Trabzon province was divided into three sections and a questionnaire was prepared with 12 photos of these areas. Before application, the main sub-attribute pairs of the questionnaire were constructed by asking opinions of expert users and then it was applied to the residents. Each photo in the questionnaire was evaluated in 5-point Likert scale (5 for the highest, 4 for high, 3 for average, 2 for low and 1 for the lowest) in terms of naturalness, harmony, maintenance, access, facade pollution, aesthetic view and the building-green balance. The findings obtained from descriptive statistics indicated that a relationship was established between the preference purposes of the use of the coast within the scope of the study and the parameters. The user opinions on the use of Ayasofya, Beşirli-II (Akyazı) and Beşirli-I areas located in Trabzon coastal line were presented out of seven parameters determined as a result of the questionnaire. Then, each parameter was examined separately, and the obtained results were interpreted and discussed in line with the related literature.
