Scientific counseling process management of Tubitak secondary school students research projects: An example of science

Daha sonra doldurulacaktırThe purpose of this study is to examine the scientific consultancy process and development of science teachers in project preparation with the project based learning approach in TUBITAK Secondary School Students Research Projects Competition. The research was designed as action research. The application of the study was conducted with 2 science teachers and 11 students in a private school in the province of Eskişehir in the 2017-2018 academic year. The data of the research were collected with teacher pre-knowledge form, researcher diary and notes, video records, student project reports. Collected qualitative data were analyzed by inductive analysis. From the collected data; At the beginning of the action step of the teachers, the findings of the action plans they developed and implemented against the difficulties and difficulties they encountered during the action process were obtained. Findings of teachers' opinions on action plans were obtained. Findings of the effects of action plans on student activities were gathered. As a result of the research, it was concluded that the practices made a positive contribution to the professional development of teachers. The planned, progressive and practical action plans for the scientific consultancy process have contributed positively. Discussions of teachers about the behaviors they exhibited in scientific counseling in the meetings have contributed positively to teachers. It is concluded that teachers need training and guidance in project preparation. It was concluded that teachers had difficulty in project preparation, main project preparation, topic setting, report writing, time, material and school management.
