Abstract (EN)

This thesis aims to examine the sound insulation of buildings constructed with tunnel formwork systems, using the example of the 5 Levent Housing Complex in Istanbul. While the tunnel formwork system is preferred for its advantages, such as fast construction time and structural strength, research on its sound insulation performance is limited. This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of sound insulation in buildings using tunnel formwork systems by analyzing the acoustic experiences, sound transmission, and existing sound issues of the residents. The research was conducted through a survey applied to the residents of the 5 Levent Housing Complex, focusing on their experiences with sound insulation, discomfort levels, and the acoustic condition within the building. The data obtained aims to understand the residents' expectations and issues related to sound insulation. In conclusion, this thesis aims to evaluate the impact of tunnel formwork systems on sound insulation and provide suggestions for potential improvements in this area.
