Abstract (EN)
Aim: Type A is ambitious, competitive, speaking out loud, impatient; Type B patient, adaptable, slow moving, without entering into discussions with others, who can not express Type C is feelings, which suppress their anger, people are trying to please others. This study, whether the effects of personality in the development of cancer and nutrition, family factors, and factors such as physical activity planned to examine the effect of cancer case-control study. Material and Method: The researh constitutes 151 patients in cancer group who admitted the TÖTM oncology clinics and 251 control group patient who admitted internal diseases clinics in TÖTM. In this research we have been used Type A personality trait scale which developed by Batıgün and Şahin and Type C personality type scale, which developed by Kurrass and made by Bozo and friends the validity and reliability study in Turkey . Result: The proportion of cancer patients with a good premorbid levels of physical activity were lower than in the control group (p<0.005). Type A personalities were determined highest total score in the cancer group compared to the control group(p<0.005). Conclusion: It was determined that consumed more meat and meat products more cancer patients compared to the control group and they haven't eaten fruits and vegetables in own season. Type C personality trait subscale of 'sacrificing' was significantly higher in breast cancer compared to other cancer groups. It is necessary the public education about cancer and its causes, gaining the right eating habits and increasing physical activity.
