A modal proposal for increasing the effectiveness of archaeotourism in the domestic market in line with the perceptions of tourist guides towards archaeodestinations

Archaeotourism has been developing worldwide as an important sector of the tourism industry. It is thought that proper marketing of archaeodestinations, which are the activity areas of archaeotourism, will contribute to tourism activity. The aim of the research is to determine the perceptions of tourist guides towards archaeodestinations in Türkiye and to propose effective marketing strategies for the development of archaeotourism in this direction. In the research, case study design was used within the scope of qualitative research method. The sample of the research consists of 20 tourist guides registered in various guide rooms. Data were collected by face-to-face interview technique. The analysis of the data obtained was made with the MAXQDA 2022 program developed for qualitative research. According to the research results, it is recommended that the spatial design of archaeodestinations be made to meet today's tourist demands in order to increase the effectiveness of archaeotourism in the domestic market. It is recommended to increase the awareness of tourists about archaeodestinations through common communication tools and trips accompanied by tourist guides, and to inspect the travel routes organized by travel agencies.
