Abstract (EN)

This study aimed to examine the effect of perceived overqualification on the relationship between self-efficacy perception and intention to quit. In the study, the relationship between self-efficacy perception and intention to quit was addressed through a sample of 492 people working in the tourism sector, and it was tested whether the variables of underestimating one's job and seeing oneself as superior, which are the sub-dimensions of perceived overqualification, had a mediating or moderating effect. This context was examined due to the problems of the tourism sector, such as a high labor turnover rate and the employment of employees in jobs below their qualifications. Data were collected through the survey technique based on the quantitative research method via Google Forms, and analyses were conducted using SPSS and Structural Equation Modeling (SEM). The findings showed that the sub-dimensions of perceived overqualification played a mediating role. The study aimed to contribute to the development of new perspectives on human resources management in the tourism sector.
