The destination performance in tourism and an application for Antalya

Tourism, a service sector, has shown a rapid development throughout the world. Tourism sector accounts for the 30% of total world services trade on its own. Net contribution of tourism to the economies of countries can not be calculated precisely in that tourism is a coalescence of sectors, that is, it embodies a number of large and small service sectors. Tourism is an industry which managed by demand and supply, it estimates of seasonality and unexpected consumer demands and includes the processes of balancing the conflict of interests ( Reynders, Vd. 1997 ). Tourism don?t become an endustry yet, it is still called a very big sector howower importance of economic aspects of the sector is identified in times of crisis.Due to Standart Internatıonal Classification of Tourism Activities ( SICTA ) which was prepared by WTO, approximately there are 70 kinds of activities like building the hotels, reservation software systems etc. that are directly related tourism also there are 70 kinds of activities that are related to tourism as undirectly, too. The activites have different priorities so the measurement filters of performance are different.The performance of tourism destinations are releated to many factors that are geopolitical situation, economic environment, climate, transport, visa and immigration policies etc. effect to the performance of destinations as directly.The aim of this study is comparing Antalya by rival destinations as based on micro, macro, internal and external variables. The national and international values have been evaluated for this.
