Abstract (EN)

The study compares the extent and content of corporate communication about corporate social responsibility (CSR) in Turkey, The United States, The United Kingdom and France. In particular, the study investigated the nature of CSR principles (approaches), processes, and stake holder issues discussed in web pages. The results show that businesses in the four countries do not display the same eagerness to appear as socially responsible and employ diverse means to convey social responsibility images. The results show that Turkish companies are less eager to communicate their Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives on their websites compare to Western counterparts. Yet when it comes to communicating certain areas or subjects of CSR such as sponsorships of sport events or teams, education and environmental issues evidence was found that Turkish companies had huge amount of content related to these subjects on their corporate Webpages.
