Abstract (EN)
As Turkish foreign policy is founded on the basic principles of status quoism and Westernism, it can?t set forth much variety for the foreign policy strategies. In this thesis, it has been acted with the belief that Turkey confronted with serious security concerns coming from the USSR after World War II, and following events have been analyzed in this regard. It is of course important that Realism is the dominant theory after the World War II and the Cold War. Because seen as a bridge between east and west, Turkey has been evaluated as an important country in the U.S. Middle East policy and the USSR surrounding policy. Having security concern due to the USSR expansionist policies, Turkey acted pro-US by giving priority to national interests. This behavior which is appropriate to the realistic perspective constitutes source for our thesis to conclude in a general realistic judiciary.Key words: Turkish foreign policy, Cold War, Security, Realism,International Relations.
