Abstract (EN)
Folk tales and folk songs are important folk literature works that have come up to date from the past. It is necessary to study and learn these narratives that are the important transmitter of Turkish oral culture; to know the origin of the folk songs taking place in the narratives, where they come from and what they tell us. In this concept, folktales provide the finding of an important part of the anonymous folk songs and their creative artisans. In this respect, folktales have quite different importance for the relevant folk songs. Knowing these folk songs is also important in order to understand the works in many art fields. This study deals with the determination of the folk songs that were composed of some folktales, the detection of the story to which they belong, the section of the story to which they belong and the place and role of them in the story based on the hypothesis that a significant number of folk songs were composed of folktales. In the study, folk songs which were composed of Köroğlu and Arzu & Kamber stories in the context of heroism and love stories were determined by scanning the extensive sources (books, articles, internet, etc.) which are included in the folk songs, especially TRT Repertory. The research methods include predominantly intertextual study as well as the determination of oral tradition environments related to the subject, and for this purpose, literature review were done partially. Interviews were held with TRT folk music artists and a narrator of folktales. As a result of this research, the subject of some folk songs in the selected tales were determined, and it was determined which scene in the selected tales the relevant folk songs have come from until today, which plot they belong to and which ones have been included into Turkish folk music repertoire. In this way, it was understood that a significant number of folk songs are related to folktales, and it was ensued that it is firstly needed that the folk tales which they belong to should be known in the search of a great majority of folk songs. Nowadays, it was understood that oral narratives named folktales after electronic culture medium took the place of oral culture medium generally have been surviving through folk songs. It was seen that the folk songs representing the folktales has been continuing to be performed vividly although folktales were largely forgotten. Keywords Folktale, folk songs, oral culture, Köroğlu, Arzu and Kamber.
