Abstract (EN)
This study called, "tradition in Turkish folk music and its transformation" focuses on the changes and variations in folk music over time, especially, since the the idea of creating "national music" which emerged in the post-republican period.Moreover, many topics such as how changes in the society affected folk music in the period when music was shaped with certain policies, are some important topics discussion in our study.Our study, which deals with the production areas of folk music and the transformation of these production areas from past to present, aims to display the general picture of folk music in Anatolia.The study, which includes information on folk music and its presentation in demand among urban societies as a result of soaring rates of urbanization in our country after 1950, also reflects the master-apprentice relationship in music education nowadays and it informs about the shape it has turned into today.Another important topic of our study is TRT and 'Yurttan Sesler' Chorus. In this study, the changes in vocal and instrumental performances in folk music have been evaluated along with the positive and negative contributions to folk music since the foundation of this chorusIn the light of all these topics, this study is important in terms of our music because of its essential role as a bridge in connecting the past and the present by describing the process of transformation in multiple dimensions after taking into account the traditionalism and its transformation in Turkish folk together with the factors and developments behind this transformation.
