Abstract (EN)

İbn Sina, or by his Latinized name Avicenna, is one of the most important personalities the Turk-Islam World has produced. It will be apparent to one who does a little research on his biography that he has been an authority in almost all branches of sciences and wrote plenty of treaties in a wide range of subjects. Mentioning one of his treaties that has been used as a textbook in western universities for hundreds of years, as an example, would prove this judgement significantly. In this study, some information about his life, his works, his academic life and his religion and nationality have been given primarily and a study that has been carried out in pre-Republican period has also been included to it. And, additionally, the transcription of Derviş Hasan's book written in old Turkish, which consists of several tales and stories about Avicena has been indited. Although the stories may have no factual basis it is significant in terms of expressing his great role in the history of science and his social status among the Turkic nations. Keywords: Avicenna, Dervi? Hasan Medhî.
