Abstract (EN)

Today, the media not only informs individuals about current developments, but also has the ability to shape which issues the public will be informed about and in which direction with its agenda setting and agenda framing aspect. Considering this comprehensive impact of the media on public opinion, and especially when the rapidly increasing use of social media in recent years is evaluated together with this, the importance of news and social media posts on migrant and refugee groups is understood more. This research will examine the tweets of six parties (Justice and Development Party, Republican People's Party, Good Party, Nationalist Movement Party, Peoples' Democratic Party and Victory Party) and party leaders on Syrian refugees on their official Twitter accounts and will determine which issues related to Syrian refugees the parties and party leaders focus on the most in their tweets and how they structure their representation of Syrian refugees. The main reason for choosing Twitter as the field of investigation in this study is that in recent years, social media has become one of the channels used to obtain information in addition to mainstream media and the speed of information dissemination on Twitter is higher than other social media channels.
