Abstract (EN)
Horseracing is an industry of significant socio-economic and socio-cultural importance both in the world and in Turkey. In this context, both the horseracing industry and the betting markets are under the scrutiny of social sciences. This study examines the historical development and transformation of horseracing in Turkey within the context of social relations, the structural analysis of the horseracing industry, and the production relations involved. The role and visibility of labor within these relations, the relationship between betting markets and horseracing, and the socio-economic impacts of the horseracing industry have been investigated. A qualitative research method was used in the study, and data obtained from the field through interviews were analyzed. Based on the findings from these analyses, it is believed that the proposed improvements will support the growth of the sector
