Abstract (EN)

It is necessary to minimize the number of accidents if one wants to make improvements in the field of Occupational Health. For this reason, in order to evaluate the developments in our country, especially on sectoral basis, the data for the years of 2008-2016 were brought together and evaluated in different criteria. It has been determined that occupational accidents occurred mostly in Production, Construction and Transportation-Distribution branches throughout the years. In this study, the number of the occupational accident statistics such as resulting in fatal and non-fatal but being incapable for work have been obtained from the Ministry of Labor and Social Services as well as the Economic Policy Research Foundation of Turkey (TEPAV). Profession groups were divided into 12 groups. Occupational accident weight ratios and occupational accident frequency rates of the sectors were determined and compared. Hierarchical Clustering Analyzes and Multidimensional Scaling Analysis were performed by using the SPSS statistical program. The occupational groups were clustered according to the frequency and weight ratios of occupational accidents for each year and the sectors were positioned according to their frequency and weight ratios in 2-dimensional space. As a result of the study; the data on accidents from 2008 to 2016 were analyzed and basic indicators were revealed. The new findings were obtained from the data; thus new data sources on occupational health and safety (OHS) were created.
