Abstract (EN)

Information about temperature and precipitation, which are the main elements of the Earth's climate, are of great importance in determining the characteristics of world climate variations. The changes in these two parameters, which show great variability in both spatial and temporal scales, reveal important clues for understanding the general structure of the climate. The aim of this study is to analyze the trend of annual maximum (extreme) precipitation values observed in Turkey. . In this context, the standard durations of the annual maximum precipitation of 82 gauge stations located in seven geographical regions of Turkey between 1975-2015 (t=5, 10, 15, 30 minutes, and 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 8, 12, 18, 24 hours) trend analyzes were performed using Mann-Kendall, Innovative Trend Analysis (ITA) and Improved Visualization Innovative Trend Analysis methods (IV-ITA). The results showed that according to the Mann-Kendall method, a 15% increasing and 1% decreasing trend was detected in all stations, and a 63% increasing and 17% decreasing trend was detected according to ITA. According to IV-ITA, an increasing trend of 61% (63%) and a decreasing trend of 22% (22%) emerged in low (high) category values. It has been determined that an increasing trend is dominant throughout Turkey and this trend is concentrated in the Black Sea, Marmara and Aegean regions. A more increasing (decreasing) trend was observed in medium and long (short) term precipitation.
