Abstract (EN)
In the age of global capitalism, the public servants in peripheral capitalist countries face some problems such as job security and social security rights as a part of structural adjustment programmess of the international organisations. It is vital for the unions of public servants in Turkey, which fight against all these matters without the right of collective bargaining and strike, to reach the public opinion through media. However, the mainstream media of the age of global capitalism broadcast in a way to strengthen the neoliberal views, so they give very limited place on their pages to these organisations which represent labors, and exclude these labor organisations with different methods. This study examines the place of public servant organisations in the mainstream media with the guidance of the newspaper Hürriyet. This study puts forward that both the problems of public servants and the mechanism which defines the broadcast content of the mainstream media organisations come up within the framework of the same neoliberal views.
