Abstract (EN)
In this study, it is aimed to map the institutional aspects of violence against women in Turkey through the concepts of gender and violence. Violence against women is fed by gender inequality. In this sense, the concept of gender, which is biologically different from the concept of gender, and the perceptions of "femininity" and "masculinity" attributed to women and men through the concept cause stereotypes on the social plane. Efforts to combat violence, which is accepted as a social problem and handled in a multidimensional way, are proceeding in direct proportion to the fight against gender inequality in this direction. In the study, the studies on combating violence against women in Turkey were examined under four headings; laws and regulations, the public sphere and civil society. Keywords: Civil Society, Feminism, Gender, Public Sphere, Violence,
