Nationalism in "The National Vision" parties in Turkey

The ideology of nationalism is a view that has different theoretical levels, its rich about content and powerful in action. The understanding of nationalism, which changes depending on the development, social structure, culture and political traditions of each society, cannot be expressed in a common definition, and it is very difficult to give a clear date as to when it was born. The French Revolution is a outcome of a period called modernization process, this is accepted as the most effective process in making the idea of nationalism visible. Since this date the concept of "nation" has matured, it started to penetrate the states and societies of the world and pioneered the building movements of nation states. Turkish nationalism started in the 19th century. In Turkey nationalism has taken its place in the ideas of both central and peripheral parties and the citizens use the parties to express themselves. Turkish politics has also witnessed many individual discourses and perspectives of nationalism. One of the radical right wing movement in Turkey; The national vision movement is within the the framework of a political structure based on Islamic principles is also a movement that promotes nationalism as a political ideology. The National Vision Movement is an Islamic and conservative understanding that contains nationalist elements. The movement aims to combine national identity and ummah to build a new nation and identity. It is presented by combining the the Turkish nationalism and Islam religion. This means a new understanding of nationalism in the concept of national vision. That's why in this work, The nationalist elements were tried to be determined by examining the party programs of the political parties of the national vision movement, the election manifestos and the discourses of the party members.
