Examination of project management education within the scope of architecture programs in Turkey

While project management gains more importance day by day due to the increasing competitive environment in our world and in our country, it is very difficult to find a project manager who will manage projects in our country compared to other countries. In addition necessary importance is not given to the training and dissemination of project managers, it is thought that the project is managed with people who have not technically received management training. The aim of this study is to deal with project management and management through trainings within the scope of architecture programs in Turkey. For this purpose, undergraduate, postgraduate and doctorate education of all universities in Turkey, institutions and organizations that issue an international certificate for project management were examined. In the study, quantitive data collection was used as a method and then the information collected through literature review was analyzed and comments were made. In this direction, it has been determined that the number of project managers in our country is insufficient compared to the projects carried out in the sector, and it has been discussed that project management training should be more active and widespread, and as a result, the benefits brought to the sector are mentioned. This study is extremely important in terms of making project management more active and professional in Turkey.
