Turkey's place in NATO

In this study, information about NATO between 1990-2015 and the place of Turkey in NATO are examined. What the NATO, which was established as the North Atlantic Pact, is working to serve the purposes and what changes it has undergone since it was established will be discussed. The role of Turkey in NATO will also be examined, while the situation of NATO will be discussed with Turkey's entry into NATO. It is a fact that Turkey, which is in a strategic position, faces the spreading policies of Soviet Russia during the cold war periods and takes its place in NATO and turns its direction to the west. It seems that the position of Turkey against the danger of Soviet Russia's commision is also considered in this context. It is also seen that Western states and the United States are in this sense taking the protection of Turkey by taking NATO against the danger of the Commune. Perhaps this fear is at the head of the main causes of Turkey's taking over to NATO. It is also true that at this stage Turkey is at the beginning of the reasons for its admission to NATO and its acceptance to NATO, the effect of the Soviet Union. However, it is apparent that Turkey has been sending NATO troops to Korea under the United Nations umbrella. The use of Turkey, which is considered to be a shield against the danger of Communism in the Western world and has a very important geographical position due to its border with Soviet Russia, was also considered by the West and taken with Greece, which is NATO neighbor established as the North Atlantic Pact. Along with all this, besides the danger of the Kominism by the disintegration of Soviet Russia, the western states have forgotten the importance of Turkey's geographical position and started to give importance to Turkey. Turkish soldiers have also been sent under NATO command of NATO, where NATO troops participated in all kinds of NATO activities and where NATO troops such as Bosnia and Herzegovina and Kosovo, Afghanistan and Iraq served. As a consequence of the disintegration of Soviet Russia, the western states and the US have not given the necessary boost to Turkey, and they have repeatedly strayed from Turkey in the EU entry process. As a result, Turkey has considered its own direction within the framework of changing world politics and has taken its own line by taking continuous steps against the EU in this frame. This process certainly affects the relationship with NATO, of course.
