Abstract (EN)
The agricultural sector has maintained its strategic importance for countries as it is directly related to the nutrition of people. After World War II, countries followed a protectionist path. In recent years, there have been great decreases in customs tariff rates. However, there has been an increase in the applications of technical barriers in order to restrict the import of products with high competitive power. The fact that it is based on justified reasons such as health, safety, environment and consumer protection and it is extremely difficult to detect accelerates this increase even more. Having the largest share in Turkey's exports and imports, the EU is Turkey's largest trading partner. Turkey carries out most of its fresh fruit and vegetable trade with EU countries. Consumer awareness is developing in developed countries or country groups such as the EU. For this reason, consumers want the products in question to have some features and standards. Citrus production, which is the remarkable product group of this sector, is carried out in approximately 145 thousand enterprises. The main citrus species produced are orange mandarin lemon and goldenbal The fact that the production advantage provided by Turkey's ecological conditions and geographical location cannot be adequately evaluated in terms of domestic and foreign markets, and marketing problems come to the fore, make efforts to solve these problems important. The desire to have a greater say in agricultural products in world trade is developing as the common goal of countries with similar production structures and potential. This situation raises the importance of the sustainable marketing approach, which has become widespread all over the world, and makes it necessary to evaluate the issue in terms of citrus products, which have an important place in terms of export income in the fresh fruit and vegetable sector. In this research, it is aimed to contribute to policies for the production, marketing and exporting opportunities for citrus in Turkey. Keywords: Citrus, Citrus Export, Export Policies, Turkey
