Abstract (EN)

Asylum, including basic human rights violations, is an ongoing problem from past to present. Although international law has identified the basic norms in protection of asylum seekers, the countries? own regulations have caused the issue to be discussed in different aspects. The increase in asylum and mobility of migration, especially in recent years, has led the countries to bring the limitations in acceptance and protection of asylum seekers . Moreover, the requirement of the protection of asylum seekers has increased the related responsibilities of the civil initiative The new norms, put into Practice, and the efforts to develop civil initiatives, have expanded activity field of civil society organizations which aimed to develop effective and practical solutions in protection of asylum seekers. Turkey, due to both its location and the guidance of the international agreements and the EU adaptation process, has undertaken the mission to create a new asylum plan and to develop civil initiatives in Turkey.In study,it is primarily focused on fundamental concepts related to the subject. European Union acquis and international refugee law is examined. Information about international protection is provided. Turkey's asylum legislation and procedures are explained. In the last section, the tasks of civil society organizations in the roles of asylum seekers? protection are explained with examples.
