Research about the relationship between social harmony and addiction in LGBT individuals in Turkey

This research is prepared to determine the relationship between social harmony of LGBT people and factors like age, sexual tendency, education that have affect on their addiction. 219 random LGBT people living in Istanbul were chosen as sample of the research. Research includes personal information sheet about the demographic information for LGBT individuals, "Social Harmony and Self Evaluation Sheet" for measurement of individuals' psychology in social life and "Addiction Profile Index" to measure individuals' addiction levels. Data analysis and evaluation were done by using SPSS 21.0 software. Before evaluation data, Cronbach Alpha was applied to all scales to measure their reliability. The research shows that as the individuals' scores of social harmony decreases, the scores of addiction profile index increases. Social harmony of individual was studied as a factor which changes the degree of addiction of individual and research showed supporting outcomes about that claim. Also, the result of the research was discussed in the light of previous researches to support future researches about the social harmony and addiction.
