Terror organization aganist turkey and Turkey?s fight against terrorism

Today, terrorism is one of the biggest problems of Turkey. Unfortunately, the solution is still can?t be made since there is no common definition of the phenomenon among international arena. Turkey, which is expected to be the Power through its region with its geopolitical position, economical, social, and cultural components, has confronted with several actions of terrorist groups.This study, which is prepared to research the matter seen as the most important problem of Turkey thoroughly, consists of three sections. In the first section it is looked after the problem of defining the phenomenons terror, terrorism and counter-terrorism. In the light of the difinition problem, after evaluating the studies for defining the terms, it is explained that the history, reasons, aims, types and its place among national and iternational arena of the terrorism.In the second part, while the terrorist groups acted in Turkey and their historical progress is researched, it is tried to determine the counter-terrorist actions of Turkey. Especially it is tried to research the PKK terrorist group, since its still one of the biggest problems of Turkey with its size and international support which it got from international arena, and policies of Turkey against this group.In the last part, it is evaluated the solution suggestions against PKK terrorist organization. Through this concept, the example of England and Spain with their struggle against seperatist terrorist groups was researched. In the end of the section, it is evaluated the lessons can be got from Turkey?s struggle against PKK.Key words: Turkey, terrorism, counter-terrorism
