Analyzing the phenomenon of visitation in Türkiye with the example of Kars Abu'l-Hasan Harakani tomb

The purpose of the research is to examine the phenomenon of tomb visits which is one of the important folk beliefs in Turkiye and to contribute to the field by analyzing the religious attitudes and behaviors of those who visit the tomb of Abu'l-Hasan Harakani in terms of Sociology of Religion. Interpretive phenomenology method was used in the research. The interviews were conducted using a semi-structured interview form with forty people who visited the tomb of Abu'l-Hasan Harakani.. The interviews were analyzed and interpreted using content analysis and descriptive analysis methods. According to the results of the research, visiting tombs in Turkiye continues to exist as in previous years but the purposes of visitors coming to the tomb and the practices they perform in the tomb have changed over time. Superstitious beliefs about visiting the tomb have been replaced by spiritual needs, and it has been observed that people come to the tomb to express their material and spiritual problems and find peace.
