Abstract (EN)
In this thesis we have studied one of the literary genres of Turkmen oral literature called ?huvdies?. First, we have taken ?lullaby? from the point of view of Turkmens. We have also given the counterpart terminology for ?lullaby?, corresponding to this type, in some other tribes talking Turkish. In the first part of our thesis, we have classified ?huvdies?. The classification is done according to their subjects, according to the sex of the child and according to their singers. ?Huvdies? given in the third part of the thesis, have been classified under twenty one sub-titles, according to their subjects. The second part of the thesis, contains linguistic and structural features of the ?huvdies?. The language features of Turkoman Turkish have been examined by the examples that are taken from the texts of ?huvdies?. ?Huvdi? as an oral literature genre, have been living in oral tradition for ages. These, have been written down after some time. Thats why there are several versions of the same ?huvdi? in different written sources. In the thesis, the different versions are given at the footnotes. Otherwise, ?huvdies? do not always preserve their traditional form. Some samples of this exceptional type is noticed. We have added a glossary for the new words found in the ?huvdi? texts to the end of the thesis.
