Protection of wages

The employment contract established with the employment relationship established between the employee and the employer is a contract that imposes debts on both parties. In return for the employee's debt to work, the employer pays the employee a wage and the wage is the employer's primary debt. Not paying the wage or paying it incompletely may put the worker and his family in a difficult situation. Because the wage, which is one of the essential elements of the employment contract, is the only means of subsistence of the worker and his family as a rule. For this reason, many regulations have been included in both international law and national law to specifically protect wages. As a matter of fact, the wage of the worker is protected against the actions of the employer, on the one hand, and against the actions of the worker himself and third parties, on the other hand, with the regulations in the Turkish Law, notably the Constitution, the Labor Law and other laws. In our thesis, after mentioning the concept of wage in general, the regulations regarding the protection of the employee against his own transactions and third party transactions, such as the employer's actions such as late or improper payment of the wage in Turkish Law or a reduction in the wage or barter due to his receivable from the employee, are doctrinal. will be examined within the framework of discussions and judicial decisions, and its regulations in international law will also be included, which will be limited to our subject.
