Abstract (EN)

East Turkestan is one of the five regions where China accepts its autonomy. Since 1955, the "Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region" has been defined for the entire East Turkestan region by the Government of the Chinese Communist Party. The autonomy of the region was accepted and it started to be called by this name. Uyghur Turks, who are the real owners of the region in terms of politics and culture, have been defined as a minority by China. Minorities are very important for the establishment and continuity of international peace and trust. For this reason, the protection of minorities and the provision of certain rights have been brought to the agenda by many institutions, organizations and organizations, and studies have been carried out. Uyghur Turks, who are officially recognized as a minority, naturally have the right to benefit from them. The main hypothesis of the study is that Uyghur Turks are deprived of certain rights granted to autonomous states by international law, human rights guaranteed by both international law and international documents, and minority rights within the scope of human rights, and rights violations occur in East Turkestan. The basis of these violations of rights in the region is the activities of the Chinese Government towards the region and the people of the region. Within the scope of this study, first of all, China's social and political policies towards Uyghur Turks such as population, immigration, education and economy will be examined. Then, the two claims given above will be tried to be verified with the descriptive data analysis method based on the use of primary and secondary sources, and the violations of rights that continue today will be tried to be revealed in their most up-to-date form.
