Evaluation of the use of force in the context of concrete examples in international law

This thesis examines the relationship between concrete uses of force and the law on the use of force, analyzing states' arguments and legal justifications for the use of force in the international arena. The thesis addresses the fundamental function and historical evolution of the phenomenon of use of force, while also examining specific instances of state use of force in the post-UN era and the arguments put forth by international legal scholars in favor of these actions. Topics such as post-Cold War counterterrorism and the classification of states as offenders are also discussed. The aim of the thesis is to uncover the methodological debates within the law on the use of force and the origins of these arguments, providing a critical perspective on the subject.
