Abstract (EN)

The right to work is a fundamental human right. In the context of this right, a person must first have a job. Therefore, ensuring adequate employment and preventing unemployment is vital within the scope of the right to work. Moreover, the right to work is not just about being an employee. The work one has must be a decent one. It is seen that decent work is evaluated and defined within the scope of the right to work in the literature and international human rights documents. Examining the current aspects and regulations for decent work constitutes the main purpose of our study. In this regard, in our study, first of all, the scope of the right to work is analysed. The International Labor Organization (ILO) is an international organization that has an important place in developing labour rights. The concept of decent work was first put forward by this Organization in 1999. Therefore, investigating the ILO's vision of the international working world is important for our study. Decent work, a new concept regarding working life, has been included in several international documents adopted in the 21st century. In our study, the position of decent work and its purposes are mentioned in the documents in question with links to right to work. In addition, today, decent work emerges as a new tool for achieving the International Labor Organization's social justice goal. In this context, our study has evaluated the programs implemented by the ILO to eliminate the problems and gaps related to working life and ensure decent work in different countries.
