The relationship between written or unwritten life goals and psychological well-being among university students

The main purpose of this study is to investigate the relationship between psychological well-being and life goals levels of university students who write and do not write their life goals. Relational screening model, as one of the quantitative analysis techniques, was utilized in this used in the study. The study population is associate and undergraduate students between the ages of 18-24 which continue their education at the universities in Istanbul. 52 female (52%) 48 male (48%) total 100 people were determined by using simple random sampling method for the sample of the study. Personal information form, Psychological Well-Being Scale and Life Goals Scale were used to collect research data. The data collected for the research were analyzed with the SPSS 25 program. As a result of the analysis, T test and Anova test were used for the comparisons for continuous variables providing normal distribution. The relationship between variables has been tested with Pearson correlation analysis. According to the findings of the study, it has been determined that there is a positive relationship between life goals and psychological well-being. The levels of personal relationship, social contribution, physical health, contribution to the family, being famous and psychological well-being of the university students who wrote their life goals were significantly higher than the group who did not write. Women's aims to contribute to a meaningful life, family and society are significantly higher than men. Life purpose and psychological well-being levels differ according to income groups.
