Abstract (EN)
The aim of the study was to determine the effect of mindfulness and emotional schemas on cognitive flexibility in university students. For this purpose, 405 students studying at the universities in Istanbul were administered in to study by the use of Sociodemographic Information Form along with the Mindfulness Scale, the Leahy Emotional Schema Scale and the Cognitive Flexibility Scale. According to the findings obtained from the study, mindfulness, rationalism and acceptance of feelings increased the dimensions of cognitive flexibility alternatives; reduces the vulnerability to emotions. However, while midfulness, intelligibility and rationalism increase the control dimension of cognitive flexibility; avoiding emotions and reducing rumination. While women's rationality is lower than men's, they have higher levels of perception. Rationality and rumination are higher in small age groups. While mindfulness and rumination were higher in those with lower income levels; rationality, difference, approval, compromise and control are lower. Rumination and continuity are higher in participants who indicate that they receive any psychological support.
