Abstract (EN)

The present study examined and evaluated the childhood traumas, personality traits and authenticity of university students. The research group of this study consists of 310 undergraduate students studying at Istanbul Gelişim University in the 2021-2022 academic year. The data was evaluated through the "Personal Information Form", "Childhood Trauma Scale", "Five Factor Personality Inventory-Short Form" and "Authenticity Scale Short Form". The data in the study was evaluated with the assumption of normal distribution. In order to evaluate this assumption, the kurtosis and skewness coefficients were examined. Pearson correlation analysis, which was in the parametric test group and testing the relationship between variables, Independent Groups t-test and ANOVA were used to determine the significant difference between groups. The p value was taken as .05 in the evaluations. As a result of the research; while it was determined that there was a statistically significant and inverse relationship between the childhood traumas scale and the five factor personality inventory sub-dimensions of extraversion, agreeableness, conscientiousness, and openness to experience, there was a statistically significant and same-sided relationship with emotional inconsistency. relationship was found. A statistically significant and same-sided relationship was found between the authenticity scale-short form and the five factor personality inventory sub-dimensions of extraversion, agreeableness, conscientiousness, openness to experience, and neuroticism. In our study, a statistically significant and inverse relationship was found between the variables of the childhood trauma scale and the originality scale-short form variables. It was determined that there is a statistically significant and inverse relationship between the childhood traumas scale and all subdimensions of the authenticity scale-short form, namely relational authenticity, unbiased processing, awareness and authentic behavior. It was observed that there was no statistically significant relationship between the childhood traumas scale and its sub-dimensions and the gender variable.
